Knowing God Personally.
Every day was a real struggle for *Rachel.
Rachel battled with depression when she gave birth two years ago. The daily routine of caring for her young child took a great toll on her mental health, leaving her helpless and lost. Little did Rachel know that God has a wonderful plan for her and her family.
One day, two Christians came to visit Rachel at her home. They shared the good news about Jesus Christ with her. This was a turning point in Rachel’s life. Despite being a vegetarian and doing good deeds, she felt convicted about her sin for the first time. She knew she needed forgiveness from God. Rachel started to attend church and found a group of church friends who supported and cared for her. She eventually prayed and received Christ in her life.
Since that day, Rachel’s life has never been the same. “I could not see God, but I experienced Him and felt His love with my heart. He is real. He cares about me.” said Rachel, who has now found God’s love and peace for her and her family.
Like Rachel, we also have our fair share of problems. The good news is that God loves us and has a wonderful plan for our lives.
“God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16
God’s promise of an abundant and eternal life is for everyone who believes. However, our sin separates us from God who is Holy. We try to reach God or live the abundant life through our self-effort, but we inevitably fail.
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
The good news is that Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for our sin. Jesus Christ has died on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins. If we believe in Him by faith, we receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord into our lives and become His children.
