Jesus

Jesus says this about himself in the Holy Bible:   “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”   Jesus is the way to know God the Father, personally.

Activist Revolutionary

Just over 2000 years ago, God came to earth in human form. He came in the person of his son, Jesus.

Jesus was fully human, but also fully divine. Jesus grew up in Palestine under brutal Roman Occupation. When he was about 30, he began an itinerant ministry. Jesus healed the sick. He cast out demonic spirits from people. Jesus gave sight to the blind. He taught anyone who would listen, the good news about the Kingdom of God. Jesus’ teaching was radical. He really upset the Authorities. They had him publically executed! Yet all this was God’s Plan. Jesus suffered instead of us. Jesus died to atone to God the Father, for all the damage & offence that our sins have caused ourselves, others and God.

Iam New

Are you new to Point Cook? Are you looking for a loving community with which to connect? Are you looking for friendship? Are you looking for greater fulfilment in life?

A warm welcome to you! CrossCulture is a dynamic gathering, where you can encounter God and encounter loving community. Every Sunday of the year, we gather together. We worship Jesus Christ and enjoy fellowship with many others from the Point Cook community and beyond. We are building a new church in Alamanda Estate. Until it is finished, we are meeting in the YMCA Early Learning Centre at 63-65 Tom Roberts Parade, Point Cook at 9:00am and 10:45am every Sunday.

What do we believe

We have a detailed statement of faith, but in a nutshell we believe:

  • The Bible is God’s inspired and infallible word to us and is the source of our knowledge of God and how we can relate to him and live for him.
  • God is the supreme ruler and creator of the universe, and us all.
  • People are made in the image of God, but we have chosen not to acknowledge him as our creator and ruler. The consequence of this is alienation and eternal separation from God.
  • God sent Jesus, the God-man to pay for our failure to live his way. He did this through dying in our place on the cross. The result of this is forgiveness and a new relationship with God.
  • God inhabits and empowers believers by his Spirit to respond to Him and live lives of gratitude for what he has done for us.

Our Statement of Faith

Encounter God

Jesus

Jesus is the son of God. Jesus cut through the pretension and falsehood of his times. He called people to feel regret for living a life in which we tell God to ‘shove off’.

The Holy Bible says about Jesus, “He is the author and perfector of our faith.”

Jesus exposed religious hypocrisy and our own self-centredness. He called people to feel regret for living a life where we tell God not to ‘shove off’.

Jesus invited people everywhere to believe in him and believe in God the Father who sent him. Jesus’ ministry was full of love and spiritual authority.

Jesus’ spiritual honesty upset the Authorities so much that they had him crucified in public. Yet, Jesus loved people so much that he was willing to die like this. Jesus knew it was God the Father’s Plan that he would die on our behalf. He knew he would die as an atonement to God for all our rebellion against God. Jesus knew all this must happen, in order that anyone who believes in him would have life to the full now and eternal spiritual life.

Encounter Community

Social

Church is not “a social-club”, but it is a great way to get to know other people and form lasting friendships together!

Our youth and young adults love food. Each week they enjoy having a meal together, as a background for enjoying & developing friendships, and growing in their knowledge and love of God through Jesus Christ.

The young children enjoy Sunday School. It is divided up into different age groups. Sunday School occurs each week, except during School holidays – when our committed Sunday School Teachers enjoy a well-earned break!

Adults enjoy time together over morning tea or meals together after church, and in our Life Groups during the week as well.

A GREAT WAY TO GET TO KNOW OTHER PEOPLE AND FORM LASTING FRIENDSHIPS TOGETHER!

Grow

Life Groups are a superb way to grow personally and spiritually.

Life Groups are also the best way to get to know people at CrossCulture more personally. Each Life Group is made up of about 10-12 adults. They meet weekly or fortnightly in someone’s home, to experience more about Jesus - and to grow in knowledge and love of him.

For as we experience love and acceptance in Christ in these Life Groups, we begin to heal and grow emotionally and spiritually. Loving Jesus is about growth.

Take me to the Life Groups
we begin to heal and grow emotionally and spiritually. Loving Jesus is about growth.
